What have we got planned for ISAD25?

Each year on 22nd October, the world marks International Stammering Awareness Day (ISAD) — a global moment to celebrate voices, raise awareness, and advocate for people who stammer. At Action for Stammering Children (ASC), we’re proud to stand with the stammering community and invite you to join us in a month of powerful, purposeful activity.

Whether you stammer, support someone who does, or simply want to learn more, October is your chance to get involved. Here’s how:

Skydive for Justice: Taking the Leap for Change

This year, we’re going sky-high with our Skydive for Justice on 18th October. Brave ASC supporters will be jumping from 10,000 feet to raise awareness and vital funds for children and young people who stammer. It’s bold, it’s brave, and it’s a powerful symbol of the courage it takes to speak up and be heard.

We’ll be sharing stories, videos, and updates across our channels — and inviting you to donate, share, and support. Every contribution helps us continue our work in advocacy, support, and education

Awareness Resources: Toolkit & Support Hub

As the national charity for children who stammer, we offer support and practical resources to empower children and young people at home and at school. Over October, help us spread the word to create a more inclusive world for children who stammer.

We’ll be promoting our evidence-based resources to help schools, families, and professionals better support children who stammer:

  • Stammer Awareness Toolkit: available to all schools in the UK, this ASC-funded resource is packed with practical tips and inclusive strategies for schools.
  • Support Hub: Every Tuesday, we’ll share bite-sized advice through Tip Tuesday, and our Support Hub Advisor, Grace, will be available for one-on-one guidance daily.

These tools are designed to make stammering support accessible, practical, and empowering.

Youth Panel & Advocacy: Join the Movement

We’re recruiting new members to our Youth Panel — a space for young people who stammer to shape our work, share their experiences, and lead advocacy efforts. Applications are open throughout October, and we’re especially encouraging voices from diverse backgrounds to apply.

If you’re passionate about making change and want to be part of a community that uplifts and empowers, this is your moment.

How You Can Get Involved

  • It takes guts to jump 10,000+ feet from a plane – and yet three of our supporters will be doing just that on 18th October.

Read their stories and support if you can!

  • The ASC Youth Panel is recruiting new members! If you or someone you know is aged 15 -25, passionate about raising awareness and bringing about real change, then apply to be part of the charity’s work.

  • Whether you’re a parent, educator or young person, we need your help to spread the word about our Stammer Awareness Toolkit and Stammering Support Hub.

The more people who know about these fully-funded ASC resources, the more children and young people we can help to thrive.

Share with your networks on social media, WhatsApp, email…

  • If you haven’t already, subscribe to our mailing list for all the latest about our activities, events and opportunities to get involved!
