When a child starts to stammer, most parents have no idea where to turn.

There’s no leaflet. There’s nobody obvious to ring. Children like John get quieter and quieter at school. Mums like Suzie lie awake at night wondering if they’re doing the right thing.

We’ve been helping families through this since 1989. Our Stammering Support Hub means a parent doesn’t have to work it out on their own.

Become a Friend for just £20 a month

– You ensure the next family who contacts our Support Hub will be signposted to the right support.
-You receive a welcome pack in the post and a little Christmas stocking every December.
– Action for Stammering Children receives income we can plan around. That’s how we’ll ensure not one more child with a stammer feels alone.

“John … had been scared to put up his hand in class and get involved in discussions, however after speaking to (the ASC youth panel member) this was something he was definitely going to start doing. I think it has opened him up to opening up a bit more about his stammer.”

– Suzie (John’s mum)
