We are inviting young people who stammer that wish to receive mentoring, and adults who stammer that wish to volunteer to be a mentor to attend our upcoming information sessions for our third cohort of the ASC mentoring programme!

For mentees, this programme provides an opportunity to work towards your goals and aspirations with the support and guidance of a mentor who stammers, who you will be paired with for the duration of the programme. If you are about to enter higher education, are a student considering your career options, or are actively looking for your first job, the ASC mentoring programme may be for you! You can read more about the programme by clicking here.

What does the mentoring scheme offer young people who stammer? If you are a young person who stammers aged between 18 and 25 and are embarking on the transition into higher education or the world of work, we invite you to apply for our one-to-one mentoring scheme. This 6-month programme can offer you:

•Monthly one-to-one meetings with your mentor
•Goal setting and support
•Career planning
•Confidence development
•Interview preparation
•and much more!

“A key benefit of the programme is engaging with a mentor who has faced a lot of the same obstacles due to their stammer.”

Previous Mentee

Interested in becoming a mentor? The mentoring relationship is a rewarding one for the mentor as much as for the mentee.

It will involve matching you with a young person who stammers to help them navigate the challenges that individuals sometimes face in the early stages of their career.

Interested in volunteering your time to mentor a young person embarking on the next stage of their education or career? Get in touch and we will keep you in the loop about next year’s programme.

“No one should have to play down their dreams. Mentoring has allowed me to teach a young person that they can be who they are.”
