Supporting Voices That Need to Be Heard

Running the London Marathon was one of the biggest physical and mental challenges I’ve ever taken on—but choosing who I was running for was incredibly easy.

Although Action for Stammering Children isn’t directly linked to my everyday work or routine, it is deeply personal to me. My 14-year-old son, Lennon, has grown up with a stammer, and watching him navigate that journey has opened my eyes to how crucial the right support can be—not just for the child, but for the whole family.

Throughout Lennon’s childhood, we’ve experienced the impact that charities like Action for Stammering Children can have. From offering resources, understanding and structured guidance to providing a safe space for children to grow in confidence, the work they do is truly life-changing.

So when I received a ballot place for the London Marathon, there was no hesitation—I knew immediately that I wanted to run for this cause. My goal was to help raise awareness, spark important conversations, and fund vital support for other children like Lennon.

Lennon shared:

“Watching my mum train and work so hard was amazing. I’m really proud of her for finishing the marathon and raising money for a charity that means so much to us.”

Running those 26.2 miles was tough, but knowing I was doing it for something so meaningful gave me the strength to push through every step. And seeing Lennon’s pride made every mile worth it.

If you’re able to contribute, every donation helps Action for Stammering Children continue their incredible work supporting young people and families across the UK.
