An Evening with Ed Balls
Join Ed Balls in the kitchen as he cooks and chats with journalist and broadcaster, Samira Ahmed, about cooking, family life and stammering.
Former shadow chancellor, Strictly star, TV competition winning celebrity chef, Ed Balls, is also vice president for Action for Stammering Children. He has just had a new book published called Appetite, which is a memoir with a twist: part autobiography, part cookbook, each chapter is a recipe that tells a story.
Ed was taught to cook by his mother, and in this celebration of love, family and really good food, he now passes these recipes to his own children as they start to fly the nest. Sitting around the table year after year, the world around us may change, but great recipes last a lifetime.
Ed will be cooking one of his special recipes during the evening and then be serving them to our guests. He will also be being interviewed by one of our trustees and journalist and broadcaster, Samira Ahmed. You are invited to be part of this wonderful and intimate evening where Ed will be sharing with Samira how he learnt to cook, his favourite recipes from the book and together they will share their reflections on stammering and family life.
All proceeds from the event, including ticket sales, will go towards supporting children and young people who stammer, and their families.
Make sure to secure your ticket here and join us for what hopes to be a wonderful evening of celebrating all things food, family and stammering. We have tickets to the live event available and you are able to join us online too, as we will be live-streaming the event.
